Kirby Parks Muscle Man
Kirby Park Hercules (aka Hurcs)
Sire Happy Giggle (stop laughing ......... he he he ha ha ha ha i’m still giggling)
Dam Passionate (same dam as rising 4* super star Kirby Park Allofasudden)
Born 2002
Hurcs’ story is one of those great saved off the track stories.
Hurcs was bred by Prim Cromwell ( International cross country course builder, Wayne Copping’s sister in law) to be sold at the yearling sales.
She had a wonderful mare called Passionate (sire, Lusken Star) who unfortunately only produced 5 foals and passed away at 12years of age.
Once Prim had sold them in the sales she always kept a close eye on them throughout their race career and what they did after that. Hurcs had been a fast race horse but a small injury had him thrown on the scrap heap and Prim quickly stepped in and bought him back.
She gave him some time off then started some light work on him she knew he had a good attitude and liked to jump. I got call out of the blue from Prim asking if I would be interested in taking him to do some work with then sell to a loving home for her. I said sure I can, as I was interested to see what Floyd's brother would be like.
He is awesome and I love him, I ended up buying him myself, like I needed another horse and a 7yo of the track is not really my scene, but this guy was too good to pass up. He is like Floyd in so many ways and gives me the same confident feel. He can throw a total tantrum like Floyd also, but at least he didn’t start off by chasing us in the paddock like Floyd did!!! I am hoping he can go all the way.
Hurcs will start his eventing career this March , if you come past my truck he will be the chestnut one that will nicker to you as you pass and fall asleep in your arms. He moves well and his jump is super.
