FLOWERVALE AND MEGAN VICTORIOUS AT BALLARAT 3*!!!!

The Day was predicted to be windy, wet and wild. For our first time eventers Freckles and Memphis this could potentially be a mixed bag of results. Both the horses were sitting within the top ten coming into CC and we hoped to remain there or even gain some positions. Freckles was wearing the no 1. plate and was the first horse out on course for the day. A slow and steady pace was set from the get go and nothing was an issue for our Kirby Park Invader who came home clear on jumping and clear on time landing him in 4th place for his first event!!  Memphis was next to be let out of the barrel, his lovely black frame bounced along the course with nothing proving a concern. Another clear round  under the belt saw our stunning black youngster finish in 7th position!!

An early start was on the cards this morning which sounded like a 5am…….. horses were loaded and we headed out on our 25 minute journey to the Event grounds. Arriving in the dark we were one of the first day trippers to arrive, we had the truck set up and horses ear deep in hay bags by the time the sun rose. KP Invader was up first with his test on at 8am. With Portable yards being KNOCKED in and trucks reversing with BEEPING signals, people YELLING and dogs BARKING it was looking like Freckles was going to have a very ‘colorful’ test. Megan gave him as much time to familiarize himself with all the noises and commotion before entering him into his first dressage test.  With cameras clicking and video rolling Freckles came home in a very respectable 7th after Dressage on a 51.8, big smiles all around for the MJET camp who have been waiting for him to show us what he has got… we were not disappointed. The Show Jumping round was nothing short of brilliant either, the wind had picked up and it didn’t seem to phase the young Invader as he breezed around a very controlled (clear) show jumping round. Ending the day after the first 2 phases in 5th position.
