Kirby Park Irish Jester the silver child of Kirby Park. Jester was one of the first foals to be bred at Kirby Park. He was by ESB Irish Enough (Irish sport horse) out of Kirby Park Yellow Empress (Thoroughbred) one of the carefully selected brood mares used to start the breeding program at KP.

He started his eventing career as a six year old quickly progressing to the 3* ranks by the time he was eight and a half. His results and achievements are legendary. Some of his biggest achievements  include winning Melbourne international twice in 2005 and 2008. Winning Adelaide International in 2005. winning a team bronze medal at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen. The ultimate prize was  being selected on the Australian Team at the 2008  Beijing Olympic Games and winning the team silver medal and just narrowly missing out on an individual medal, Megan and Jester were the highest placed Australian combination at the games, finishing 3rd over all in the eventing competition and going on to jump for an individual medal knocking down the last rail and finishing in 4th spot just out of the individual medals. Jester finished the 2008 eventing season as the worlds best eventing horse, being ranked number 1 on the FEI world rankings table.

After  all that he is still Mr Nice Guy, always doing his best to please, still thinking he is Harry Potter with that scar on his face and trying to keep the magic going. He is now brought out for special occasions and still turning on the magic, winning both World Cup qualifiers in 2009. One in New Zealand and one in Sydney both won by over 9 penalties. He was to go to Poland for the final but it would have meant 3 months in quarantine coming out of Poland. So Megan opted to take him to Australian International Three Day Event instead where he came 3rd, after wining the dressage by 9 penalties.

Kirby Park Allofasudden, known as Floyd around the stables, is a nine year old thoroughbred gelding, by Rustic Amber out of Passionate. Bred by Prim Cromwell from Mypolonga in South Australia he was sold as a yearling at the magic millions sales. Unfortunately his racing career did not go according to plan and he changed hands a few times until he found himself at Kirby Park for some re-education.  He was very bad tempered and mean, he used to do all sorts of things when you least expected it, hence his name Allofasudden. However, Megan fell in love with this rangy naughty orange  horse. She thought he was quite fancy and with some re-education and strict guidelines he could be quite something. He is jointly owned by Alan and Stephanie Poulson and Megan

He has returned her faith in him many times, moving up through the ranks in a mature manner till he reached 3* status, winning and placing in many 3*events around Australia. In 2008 he was placed on the elite list and named as reserve horse for the Beijing Olympic Games and then went on to 2nd place in his first CCI4* (Australian International Three Day Event). He won the Melbourne International CCI3* in 2009 (and was the only horse to finish on his dressage score). Then after winning Reynella CIC3* went on to place second in the CCI4* at the Australian International Three Day event again in 2009, where also won  the  Magic  Millions Trophy. Floyd is a very exciting horse and is just waiting to step into Jester's shoes. Floyd finished the 2009 eventing season ranked 2nd on the FEI World Rankings Table

Westbury Park Grove, also known as Bosco, a 7 year old is a full brother to Kirby Park Irish Friday. He is owned by Rodney and Nadyne Schipp of Mt Gambier.  Bosco came 4th in the 1 star in a field of 70 odd horses at Melbourne International this year 2009. He was one of only 3 horses to finish on their dressage score. He graduated to 2 star and was 4th in the CIC 2 star at the Adelaide Australian International Horse Trials in November. He is solidly improving and Megan hopes to take him to 3 star level sometime next year.

Bosco is a lovely quiet gelding typical of the temperament Kirby Park seems to produce.

Kirby Parks Melman (if you have seen the animation film “Madagascar” Melman is the giraffe)
Kirby Park Irish Tom
Sire   Kirby Park Irish Jordan
Dam   Daring Twig (A grade show jumper)
Born    15th December 2003
Tom is my most sensitive horse he is a real S.N.A.G and like his title “Melman” he worries about everything from the sun bleaching on his ears to the shadow by the arena gate.  He is sure to be a star with Jester as his uncle and mentor (they paddock across from each other).
He then gets  warmed up and his confidence builds and he is awesome. He has great paces and a huge jump but we have taken him very slowly as there is no need to rush him. He did preliminary and pre novice last season and he will start again in preliminary this year.
I gave him 4 months off at the end of last season   as he seemed to be still growing and we had issues finding a jumping saddle to fit his shape then “PRESTIGE” brought out the DX jumping saddle and this fits him like a glove.
I have a great team of young horses just ticking along in the back ground, with Tom, Chooch, Hurcs and Friday i don’t feel i need to rush these horses.
We had to get a “TOMMY TRAVEL PILLOW” as when he is in the truck he squishes his face into the corner of the truck and the head divider and sleeps. He does it as soon as he is loaded up and we watch him from the truck cab in the CCTV. He stay like that all the way to Sydney!!!! So a travel pillow was a must.

Kirby Parks Super Model
Kirby Park Irish Empress (aka Chooch)
Sire   Kirby Park Nantamboo
Dam Kirby Park Irish Imperial (full sister to the great Kirby Park Irish Hallmark)
Born   20th December 2004
From the day Chooch was born she was stunning, white face and legs like her sire and huge ears like her dam.
Chooch is what i call my freak, she is one of the “babies” but goes about her business with such maturity people laugh when I tell them she has only really been under saddle and consistent work since October 2009. They think I’m joking!
She has a body to die for and moves with such ease and cadence, she has never gone through an ugly out of proportion stage, she has always been a super model. Now that we have sold Kirby Park Joy (the original super model) Chooch has very comfortably stepped into her shoes.
Chooch will start her eventing career this March she has had a good pre season of training since being started in May 2009 and then spending until October 2009 just ticking over and lunging, a couple of weeks in work, then a couple out, then when it was too cold and wet, a month off.
I feel confident that she will step into the competition arena with ease.
Look out for her in 2010 you will fall in love with her, like we have. She moves, she jumps and she strikes a mean “Blue steel” pose (for those of you that have seen Zoolander).
